East Coast Offshore Drilling Will Have Devastating Effects

Written by Mass Chapter Executive Committee | Jan 28, 2015 10:49:27 PM

There's real concern that offshore drilling for oil and gas could happen off of the east coast. Right now there is action being taken to conduct exploratory studies - the effects of which themselves will be devastating to our marine environment.

We know the ocean knows no state boundaries. When something bad happens in one region, we all feel the negative ramifications - whether in our waters, at our coastlines or in our hearts. This interconnection is one reason why President Obama's plan to expand offshore drilling in the US is EVERY ocean lover's problem, and is an all hands on deck campaign. Please be sure to share this Surfrider Foundation alert & take action by offering comments to BOEM to oppose the Obama Administration's short-sighted plan.
