 -2'>Surfrider MA is joining with Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (BHA) and M
 assAudubon for a cleanup at the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge!</p>
 \n<p>The check-in station will be at <a href='http://pininthemap.com/07a03
 abab5beb6201' target=”_blank” rel='noopener noreferrer'>Lot 1</a>\, which 
 is the first lot after entering the refuge.</p>\n<p>When volunteers enter 
 the Refuge\, they can indicate that they are here for the cleanup and they
  will be admitted for free. The cleanup will be from 2 PM to 5 PM\, and vo
 lunteers are welcome to come and go as they wish. After the cleanup\, we w
 ill have a family-friendly gathering at a local restaurant or brewery (lik
 ely Riverwalk Brewing\, but stay tuned for final confirmation). </p>\n<p>A
 ll necessary cleanup supplies will be provided\, but it’s a good idea to b
 ring water (in a reusable bottle!) and work gloves that you’d be happy usi

 d as part of the ongoing efforts of the Cape Cod Coastsweep! We’re excited
  to be getting involved on the Cape and hope that this is the first of man
 y events! <b>The cleanup will begin at 11:00 by the lifeguard house where 
 we will introduce the Surfrider Foundation and go over a safety briefing.<
 /b></p>\n<p>There’s a lot of beach to cover with both the harbor side and 
 sound side\, but many hands make light work! Necessary cleanup supplies wi
 ll be provided\, but please come with water in your own (reusable) water b
 ottle and shoes comfortable for walking on the beach. Stay tuned for more 
 details about a reception afterwards where we can continue the conversatio
 n about Surfrider and the Cape and how we can increase our impact on the C
 apes fragile and essential ecosystems!</p>\n<p><i>Parking:</i> There is am
 ple parking in the Kalmus Beach parking lot at no charge in the off season
 \, we suggest parking down by the lifeguard house where we will gather at 
 the beginning and end of the cleanup.</p>\n<p><i>Transportation:</i> For t
 hose coming from off Cape without a car accessible\, there is a bus statio
 n on Hyannis Main Street which the Plymouth & Brockton goes to and from Bo

  Carson Beach where we will be working with Dorchester’s Girl Scout Troop

 rel='noopener noreferrer'>Boston Bag Ordinance Fame</a>!) to run a public 
 beach cleanup\, trash sort\, and data collection. We’ll be following up th
 e cleanup with a guided discussion about what we find and a brainstorming 
 session on different ways that we can stop trash and pollution from gettin
 g onto the beach and into the ocean in the first place!</p>\n<p>As always\
 , look out for the Surfrider flag to find the <a href='http://pininthemap.

 tup location</a>. Necessary cleanup supplies will be provided\, but it’s a
  good idea to bring a pair of work gloves that you are comfortable using\,

 The plan is to meet up by 12 noon for the distribution of cleanup gear and
  brief safety briefing before starting work.</p>\n<p><i>Parking</i>: There
  are some metered lots along the beach as well as on-street parking on Wil
 liam J Day Blvd and Colombia Rd (City of Boston meters are free on Sundays

 ved in Massachusetts\, we are still in the midst of pandemic. This cleanup
  will take place with extra precautions and some major differences from ‘p
 re-COVID-19’ cleanups.</p>\n<p>We’ve pulled together full details <a href=

  to read carefully\, but here are some highlights:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>

  a summer series of cleanups around the US\, organized in partnership with
  our friends at Everlane. We’re excited to work with a brand that has comm
 itted themselves to eliminating all virgin plastics from their supply chai
 n in 2021 and seeks to become 100% landfill-free. More details about Everl

 <strong>Time and Place:</strong> Starting at 11:30AM on 8 June 2021\, come
  find us along the Harborwalk in Boston’s Seaport.  Look out for the Surfr
 ider MA flag along the water near the Harborwalk Playground (behind 22 Lib
 erty Drive) and the Harborwalk Lookout Terrace (25 Fan Pier Boulevard). <b
 >This <a href='http://pininthemap.com/ppa358522616b528ca2'>map</a> shows t
 he approximate location.</b></p>\n<p><strong>Public Transit: </strong>The 
 meeting location is an 0.2 mile walk (~5 min) from Courthouse Station on t
 he MBTA Silver Line (SL1\, SL2\, or SL3). There is also a nearby stop at S
 leeper Street and Seaport Blvd for the <a href='https://www.mbta.com/sched
 ules/4/line'>#4 Bus</a>.</p>\n<p><strong>Parking:</strong> While there is 
 some car parking available nearby\, remember that on-street metered parkin
 g in Boston is usually quite limited and garages can be very pricey. Pleas
 e do consider if public transit is an option that can work for you.</p>\n<
 hr />\n<p>Although the pandemic situation in Massachusetts is trending in 
 the right direction\, we will still be following several protocols during

 this year’s #InternationalSurfingDay. For decades\, the Surfrider Foundati
 on MA Chapter has championed to keep our beaches accessible and welcoming 
 for all people to enjoy—regardless of race\, socioeconomic background\, ab
 ility or gender identity. This International Surfing Day\, we are celebrat
 ing the joy and excitement that the beach brings to all of us.</p>\n<p><st
 rong>Join us with our friends at Surfari Surf Shop and Humans For Oceans o
 n Saturday\, June 19th for a cleanup at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester\, 
 MA. If you are a surfer\, you are welcome to join in for a paddle out afte
 r the cleanup!</strong></p>\n<p>From the parking lot\, take the main path 
 to the beach directly in front of the visitor center. Turn left and look f
 or our blue Surfrider tent!</p>\n<p>All participants should <a href='https

 starting a bit earlier than usual at 9:30AM to make sure the cleanup align
