: An initiative to improve and monitor water quality at Massachusetts beaches.

Surfrider's educational outreach program. A series of hands on activities for teachers & activists to implement in the classroom.


Beachscape: An initiative to
survey the beaches of Massachusetts and track the rate of development, environment & access.


Hold onto your butt!
: A local chapter initiative to encourage smokers to responsibly dispose of their cigarette butts. Did you know cigarette butts are the #1 type of beach litter collected nationwide? Want a Hold on to your butt bumper sticker? Send us an e-mail. We're asking for a $1 donation for each bumper sticker.

S.T.O.K.E. :Surfing to Offer Kids Environmental Education is our chapter's learn to surf program. The summer of 2005, the North Shore Affiliate hosted Big Brothers & Big Sisters.

Weir River Estuary Education Center: On the South Shore in Hull, we've partnered with two other non-profits to rehabilitate a building at the waters edge to serve as a sustainable learning center. Volunteer work includes actual carpentry & cleanup, and fundraising events. When the building is usable we will be able to host workshops and educational events from this site.

Sea to Summit - Journey through the Watershed: Parents & teachers! This video traces the hydrologic cycle from the mountains to the sea using a mix of computer generated graphics and action sports heros! Features Tara dakides, Tony Hawk, Brad Gerlach, Donovan Frankenreiter & more.
